Time bound delivery of services
The policies and programmes of Government of India are initiated by concerned Ministries/Departments, which are entrusted with the work of their implementation and monitoring. In order to ensure faster decision making and time bound implementation, review meetings are convened etc. at different levels from time to time. A programme namely “PRAGATI” (Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation) has also been initiated to monitor the Projects/Schemes through Video-Conferencing with the stakeholders. The 14th Edition of the Central Secretariat of Manual of Office Procedure (CSMOP) brought out by the Government of India in May, 2015 envisages that ‘the number of levels through which a file passes for a decision shall not exceed four’.
This was stated by the Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Dr. Jitendra Singh in a written reply to a question by Shri Raghav Lakhanpal in the Lok Sabha today.
