28th All India Postal Cricket Tournament at Visakhapatnam - Result of Semifinal matches
In continuation of the 28th All India Postal Cricket Tournament, two Semi-final matches are held on the fourth day of the tournament i.e. on 22.01.2015
Semi-Final – I: Andhra Pradesh Vs. Uttar Pradesh
Uttar Pradesh Team batted first and scored 133 runs for 9 wickets in 40 overs, whereas Andhra Pradesh Chased the score in 26 overs only with loss of 4 wickets and entered into Grand finale to be held on 23.01.2015. Sri Nishant Yadavfrom A.P. Scored 35 and remained not out and Sri T.S.S. Prasad took 4 key wickets giving away just 16 runs.
Semi-Final- II : West Bengal Vs. Tamilnadu
West Bengal Team batted first and scored 250 runs for 9 wickets in 40 overs. Tough match was held and finally Tamilnadu team won the match by 3 wickets scoring 253 runs in 39.3 overs losing 7 wickets. From Tamilinadu team, Sri Santhosh scored 52 runs in 51 balls and Sri S. VivekAthiram took 4 wickets by giving away 50 runs. Both the players played keyroll in winning of Tamilnadu Team.
With today’s matches, all the league matches and Semi-Finals were over. Andhra Pradesh to face Tamilnadu in the grand finale to be held at Port Stadium at 09-00 AM on 23.01.2015.Uttar Pradesh will battle with West Bengal for the third and the fourth place in the match to be held at Steel Plant (Ukku) stadium at 09-00 AM on 23.01.2015.
Valedictory function will be held at 4 PM on 23.01.2015 at Golden Jubilee outdoor stadium (Port Stadium). Sri M.T. Krishna Babu, I.A.S., Chairman, Visakhapatnam Port Trust will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. Smt. Sharda Sampath, IPoS, Postmaster General, Visakhapatnam Region, Sri LalitenduPradhan, Postmaster General, Siluguri & North East Region, Dr.Sri Vennam Upender, Director Postal Services, Visakhapatnam Region and Sri Pawankumar Singh, DPS(Hqrs), Odissa Circle will also present.
