A poem about Vaisakhi
As the sisters wait for Rakhi,
Farmers wait for Vaisakhi.
It is celebrated on 13th April,
About its History I will tell.
Guru ji demanded head of Fives,
Five persons offered their lives.
They became known as singhs,
Panj pyaras are like the kings.
Harsh orders of General Dyer,
Many persons died of fire.
Sowed the seeds of freedom fruit,
Lets also pay some tribute.
Mustard crop look like gold,
Farmers become rich manifold.
Farmers go to the Vaisakhi Fair,
After hectic days of crops care.
Bhangra, Giddha and lots of dishes,
Thanx God for fulfilling wishes.
