Bharti Walmart  opensBestPrice outlet in Hyderabad


HYDERABAD: Bharti Walmart, the business-to-business (B2B) joint venture between Bharti Enterprises and Walmart Stores Inc for wholesale and cash-and-carry operations in India, on Wednesday said its total investment in Andhra Pradesh had crossed $20 million with the opening of its first Best Price Modern Wholesale cash-and-carry store in Hyderabad and the third in the state after Guntur and Vijaywada.
Spread over 53,000 square feet, the Best Price store in Hyderabad is situated at Pillar no 267 at Sivarampally in Rajendranagar area and is the JV's eighteenth outlet in the country. Bharti Walmart, which launched its first B2B Best Price Modern Wholesale cash-and-carry store in Amritsar in May 2009, today also has stores in Amritsar, Zirakpur, Jalandhar, Kota, Bhopal, Ludhiana, Raipur, Indore, Meerut, Agra, Lucknow, Jammu, Aurangabad, Bhatinda and Amravati.

According to the company, the store has created over 180 jobs direct in Hyderabad and surrounding areas and 60,000 business members, comprising restaurant owners, hoteliers, caterers, fruit and vegetable resellers, kirana stores, offices and institutions, had already registered with the one-stop B2B store.
